About the Venue

Co-op Live will offer a food and beverage hospitality service that will put us head and shoulders above the crowd, as we welcome over 23,500 fans and amazing artists to taste the delicious food and drinks unique to the space in Manchester.

 

With 32 amazing bars and restaurants and 12 premium lounges and clubs – we’re going to be delivering an exceptional hospitality service for the people of Manchester and beyond. On the menu will be great food, seasoned with world class service and all with a planet friendly vibe in the heart of our vibrant community.

Role Purpose

As we gear up to opening our doors, we’re excited to announce we are looking for a talented team of Kitchen Porters to support the kitchen teams in their mobilization of the venue by helping to ensure all areas are maintained to a clean, safe environment. To ensure that all dedicated daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties are carried out, supporting us in creating the best live music experience in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Champion all related aspects of food safety and hygiene
  • Carry out all effective cleaning duties as instructed by the Head Kitchen Porter
  • Ensure that all correct dosages are followed in all cleaning procedures
  • COSHH regulations are met
  • Chemicals are stored and kept away from all food production and kept in COSHH storeroom
  • Ensure that COSHH storeroom is kept clean and tidy.
  • Report any breakages or defects of stock to the Head KP or the Exec Head Chef to be able to record on breakages sheet
  • Assist in making sure that the back of house areas is free of any blockages of goods or excess packaging and removed accordingly
  • All dedicated daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties are carried out
  • Contribute to the building of staff relationships, morale and to take an active part in other colleagues welfare, safety and development
  • Support the concept team to meet and exceed fan expectations
  • Help identify where waste can be reduced and controlled
  • Build successful professional relationships with venue heads of departments across Coop Live and OVG Hospitality 

This is a casual role offering flexible shifts available around your other commitments - involves shifts at evenings and weekends

 

Hourly Rate: Real Living Wage - Minimum £11.00 per hour plus holiday pay on top

 

Start Date: March or April 2024 - when we open our doors to Co-op Live!

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Good communication and language skills with employees, co-workers, management staff, suppliers and guests fostering a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • Good presentation skills 
  • Be part of a team in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Possess a level of organisational skills
  • COSHH Awareness training and knowledge of HACCP
  • Must be prepared to work hard under pressure and be dedicated to getting tasks done
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality

Desirable

  • Experience as a Kitchen Porter in a busy high volume hospitality environment

Due to scheduled working hours all applicants must be 18 or over.
