Co-op Live will offer a food and beverage hospitality service that will put us head and shoulders above the crowd, as we welcome over 23,500 fans and amazing artists to taste the delicious food and drinks unique to the space in Manchester.

 

With 32 amazing bars and restaurants and 12 premium lounges and clubs – we’re going to be delivering an exceptional hospitality service for the people of Manchester and beyond. On the menu will be great food, seasoned with world class service and all with a planet friendly vibe in the heart of our vibrant community.

Role Purpose

As we gear up to opening our doors, we’re excited to announce we are looking for a talented team of Warehouse Porters to support the Warehouse Manager with the responsibility of all food and beverage deliveries across the Arena.

 

You will play a pivitol role for any requested equipment, furniture, or stock being delivered to the right place at the right time and to carry products from one area of the arena to the other. You will be the go to person for deliveries in the loading bay and delivering stock to the relevant locations to support us in creating the best live music experience in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all food and beverage deliveries
  • Champion all standards of food deliveries are checked from all aspects of temperature, condition and weight and spec and recorded accordingly
  • Ensure all items are rotated in stock order
  • Assist with ordering and stock controlling
  • Recognise and ensure agreed par stock levels are adhered to
  • Report any defects or queries on stock to the Warehouse Manager
  • Assist with and maintain back of house areas so they run free of any blockages of goods or excess packaging and removed
  • Support with logistical solutions where delivery obstacles arise
  • Work with the kitchen team to ensure that food standards and aspects of food safety are met across the business and have a consistently high standard of quality and presentation and complying with all food policies
  • Assist with all operational duties required for pre-opening for all culinary and hospitality operations, ensuring Co-op Live is ready for opening and continues to be a destination of choice
  • Build successful relationships with all relevant departments across Co-op Live and OVG Hospitality
  • Ensure all effective cleaning duties are carried out in the delivery bay areas
  • COSHH regulations are met
  • Assist with all chemicals are stored and kept away from all food production and kept in COSHH storeroom
  • Ensure that COSHH storeroom is kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure hospitality areas or kiosks are set up
  • Ensure all waste is sorted into separate bins where possible
  • Support all kitchen waste, including crates, are removed, and disposed of
  • Report any breakages and to record on the breakages sheet 

This is a casual role offering flexible shifts available around your other commitments - involves shifts at evenings and weekends

 

Hourly Rate: Real Living Wage - Minimum £11.00 per hour plus holiday pay on top

 

Start Date: March or April 2024 - when we open our doors to Co-op Live!

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Build professional relationships with all members of the Co-op live and OVG group
  • Adaptable and be flexible to carry out any other reasonable requests
  • Good communication and language skills
  • Personable with good presentation skills 
  • Champion working as part of a team in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Work independently with minimal direction
  • COSHH Awareness training and knowledge of HACCP
  • Possess a level of organisational skills
  • Must be prepared to work hard under pressure and be dedicated to getting tasks done.
  • To always be courteous, polite, and helpful to any members of the public that you may encounter in your duties

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse or Stores Porter in a busy high-volume food and beverage environment.

Due to scheduled working hours all applicants must be 18 or over.
