About the Venue

Co-op Live will offer a food and beverage hospitality service that will put us head and shoulders above the crowd, as we welcome over 23,500 fans and amazing artists to taste the delicious food and drinks unique to the space in Manchester.


With 32 amazing bars and restaurants and 12 premium lounges and clubs – we’re going to be delivering an exceptional hospitality service for the people of Manchester and beyond. On the menu will be great food, seasoned with world class service and all with a planet friendly vibe in the heart of our vibrant community.

Role Purpose

As we gear up to opening our doors, we’re excited to announce we are looking for a talented team of Cellar Porters to support the Cellar Manager with the responsibility of beverage stock and the management of the Cellar and Keg rooms.


You will play a key role on event days to ensure any required beverage stock is signed in and out of the cellar and recorded appropriately and stock is always monitored during live events supporting us in creating the best live music experience in the UK.


  • Assist with all beverage deliveries, distributing and recording in cellar stores
  • Ensure all items are rotated in stock order 
  • Assist with ordering and stock controlling
  • Recognise and ensure agreed par stock levels are adhered to
  • Report any defects or queries on stock to the Cellar Manager
  • Assist with and maintain back of house areas so they run free of any blockages of goods or excess packaging are removed
  • Assist in logistical solutions where delivery obstacles arise
  • Support all operational duties required for pre-opening for all culinary and hospitality operations, ensuring Co-op Live is ready for opening and continues to be a destination of choice
  • Build successful relationships with all departments across Co-op Live and OVG Hospitality
  • Ensure hospitality areas or kiosks are set up as directed on non-live event days
  • Report any breakages and to record on the breakages sheet
  • Stock takes on cellar stores and keg rooms before and after live event days

This is a casual role offering flexible shifts available around your other commitments - involves shifts at evenings and weekends


Hourly Rate: Real Living Wage - Minimum £11.00 per hour plus holiday pay on top


Start Date: March or April 2024 - when we open our doors to Co-op Live!

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Build a professional relationship with all members of the Co-op live and OVG group
  • Adaptable and flexible to carry out any other reasonable requests
  • Good presentation skills 
  • Champion working as part of a team in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction and in an enclosed spaces
  • Possess a level of organisational skills
  • Be prepared to work under pressure and be dedicated to getting tasks done
  • Numerical skills and ability to record basic stock recording 
  • Great communications skills and be helpful to any members of the public that you may encounter in your duties


  • Experience as a Cellar Porter in a busy high-volume food and beverage environment

Due to scheduled working hours all applicants must be 18 or over.
