Co-op Live will offer a food and beverage hospitality service that will put us head and shoulders above the crowd, as we welcome over 23,500 fans and amazing artists to taste the delicious food and drinks unique to the space in Manchester.

 

With 32 amazing bars and restaurants and 12 premium lounges and clubs – we’re going to be delivering an exceptional hospitality service for the people of Manchester and beyond. Role Purpose

As we gear up to opening our doors, we’re excited to announce we are looking for Staffing Assistants to assist the People Operations Manager with the operation of the staff check in area for the catering and hospitality teams on event days.

 

Each live event day our check in area will help to mobilise over 500 staff members, this will be an extremely fast paced and pressured environment.  Staff checking in Assistants will recognise that our staff are their customers and will provide excellent customer service.

 

This role will be varied, assisting with the check in, including clocking event staff in using relevant time and attendance system, issuing accreditation and uniform. At the end of the event, Staffing Assistants will help with the collection of uniform and the checking out of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm welcoming atmosphere to all our staff members
  • Go above and beyond our customer expectations and ensure that all our staff have the best experience that working at a leading event arena could offer
  • Assist the people team within the check in and out area
  • Assist with the co-ordination of the staffing operation and any queue management
  • Direct, motivate, encourage, and inspire staff to deliver the highest results
  • Deliver a concise effective brief if required to members of staff in your area
  • Deal with colleague and customer requests and queries
  • Show compassion and support team members
  • Use the time and attendance system to set up vein scanning or facial recognition for staff members
  • Distribute and potentially transport uniforms/food items to staff members
  • Monitor presentation of staff members, ensuring they are wearing the correct uniform
  • Stock take of uniforms and preparation of dirty uniforms for laundry collection
  • Direct/take staff members to their area of work within the Arena
  • Support BOH and F&B Supervisors and Managers with updates on staff arrival or cancellations for their areas
  • Comply and complete any company paperwork as and when requested
  • Assist in always keeping the staffing area clean and tidy
  • Attend mandatory and other training as required
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety standards and evacuation procedures and ensure implementation
  • Deliver on environmentally friendly processes and procedures, energy use and waste management and ensure full implementation across your area
  • Deliver amazing experiences that last long in the memory of our staff members, enhancing on Co-op Live being an employer of choice.

This is a casual role offering flexible shifts available around your other commitments - involves shifts at evenings and weekends

 

Hourly Rate: Real Living Wage - Minimum £12.50 per hour + holiday pay on top

 

Start Date: March or April 2024 - when we open our doors to Co-op Live!

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Good communication and language skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, fostering a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • Strong communication interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Passion for working with people and for delivering great service
  • Work independently when required using own initiative
  • Well presented, friendly, approachable and with an eye for detail
  • Deal with customer requests and queries
  • Multitask and prioritise during busy periods
  • Willing to take on other jobs to balance the teams work load

Desirable

  • Staffing operational experience in a stadium, events arena, festival environment or equivalent fast-paced hospitality setting or volume-led environment

Due to scheduled working hours applicants must be 18 or over.
