About the Venue

The Brewery is an awarding winning event venue in the heart of City of London, delivering events from the extravagant to the discreet, for hundreds of customers or for a handful. We pride ourselves on a faultless service from the moment an enquiry is made through to follow up meetings post event. We have twelve rooms within The Brewery Venue and are still expanding.

Role Purpose

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated and diligent Night Manager to join our team at The Brewery on Chiswell Street.

 

We are seeking a proactive and responsible Night Manager to take full accountability for the building and all on-site staff during overnight shifts. This pivotal role involves coordinating and supervising various teams working through the night — including Event Logistics, Kitchen Porters, and external AV crews — to ensure all operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

 

The Night Manager will oversee the timely setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring all rooms are fully prepared for client use and that back-of-house areas are clean and operational. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the kitchens are thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next day’s events, by overseeing and managing the teams responsible for this work.

 

In the event of an evacuation, incident, or emergency, the Night Manager will assume Duty Manager responsibilities, acting as the primary liaison with external emergency services and ensuring all procedures are followed correctly.

 

This is a vital role for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure all work carried out by night associates is completed in a safe, orderly, and professional manner.
  • Guarantee that event spaces are fully set according to the Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs), including setup, cleaning, and table lay-up as required.
  • Ensure all event rooms and back-of-house areas are prepared and ready for seamless handover to the Events Delivery team prior to guest arrival.
  • Perform administrative duties as required to support nightly operations.
  • Liaise daily with the Logistics or R&D teams to assist with the movement of client or company equipment and belongings.
  • Receive a detailed handover from the Evening Duty Manager at the start of the shift and provide a full handover to the Morning Duty Manager at the end.
  • Take ownership of specific projects as delegated by relevant Heads of Department.
  • Attend all relevant training sessions and courses to maintain knowledge and compliance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Fire Alarm Panel, as well as all fire, bomb threat, and security procedures within the venue.
  • Prevent unauthorised access to the premises and protect both guest and company property from loss or damage.
  • Comply at all times with the company’s Health & Safety and Fire Regulations and procedures.

 

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Proven previous experience in a similar role
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise to meet tight deadlines
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • First Aid at Work training
  • COSHH training
  • SIA licence – (Door Supervision or Security Guarding), not essential but preferable

 

Other Requirements:

  • Frequent moderate physical effort required
  • The role may involve moving furniture, lifting, and reaching, bending and repetitive actions.
