About the Venue

Role Purpose

We're looking for an HR Business Partner to support a busy, multi-site, multi-functional organisation and act as a primary people contact for operational managers and stakeholders across hospitality, retail, sports and entertainment, events and corporate.

We’re OVG — a certified great place to work, operating across hospitality, food and beverage, retail, sports and entertainment, events and corporate. This is a brand new role as our people team moves into a new era, adapting to suit a growing, evolving workforce.

The role supports an employee population of over 4000 across multiple disciplines but has a strong hospitality lean - therefore it's essential the successful HR Business Partner has proven expertise in this sector.

This is a strategic partnering role, not a transactional one. You’ll work as a trusted consultant to senior leaders, lead a small advisory team, and help shape the people experience across a busy, multi-site business. Hospitality or food and beverage experience is vital as you’ll need to understand this world from day one.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Business Partnering; act as a trusted HR consultant to operational leaders and senior stakeholders
  • Influence people decisions at a strategic level — not just implement process
  • Coach managers to build their own leadership capability
  • Line manage two HR Advisors/Officers
  • Provide guidance, development, and escalation support on complex casework
  • Drive consistency and quality of HR across the organisation
  • Proactively identify compliance risks, policy gaps, and people issues before they escalate
  • Collaborate with Talent, L&D, and Reward to ensure joined-up, best-practice activity
  • Oversee ER casework across the patch; personally manage complex or high-risk cases
  • Use people data to surface trends and inform senior decision-making
  • Produce and present insight that drives action, not just awareness

What We’re Looking For

  • Substantial experience in hospitality, food and beverage, catering, or a high-volume consumer-facing environment is essential to this role.
  • Proven HRBP or senior HR Generalist, operating beyond transactional HR
  • 7+ years’ HR experience with clear progression to business partner level
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior HR colleagues
  • Strong ER background — confident handling complex, high-risk casework independently
  • Track record of influencing and partnering with senior leaders
  • CIPD Level 5 minimum; Level 7 advantageous
  • Commercially aware, solutions-focused, and confident pushing back when needed
  • An excellent communicator — credible at all levels

Good To Know

This role pays £57,000 – £64,000 DOE and comes with an excellent benefits package: private healthcare, corporate gym discount, enhanced parental leave, tech and EV schemes, F&B discounts, and ongoing training and development.

Hybrid, WC2 office base with regular site travel across London. London-based or within easy reach of central London required.

We’re a certified great place to work and we promote from within. For the right person, there’s a clear path toward senior-level people leadership.

Our Inclusion Commitments

OVG is for everyone. Diversity drives innovation, strengthens our people, improves our service, and raises our excellence.

Wherever you come from, wherever you are going, we’d love to hear from you.
